Yonas Mitiku is a versatile professional with extensive expertise spanning education, research, training, and consultancy. He is certified in Management Consultancy by the Ethiopian Management Institute and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his roles in cultural and creative industries. Yonas graduated in B.A in EDPM and hold MBA in General Management. Yonas began his career before 20 years ago in education sector as a teacher and promoted to Academic Director, and Supervisor. He later transitioned to serve as a Civic engagement Capacity Building, research and M&E Senior Officer and Senior Analyst at ministerial offices and the Addis Ababa Mayor’s Office. His career also includes Senior project officer roles in Education, Culture, arts, public service reforms, Multi-sectoral development and emergency response Projects both local and international organizations. took more than 30 trainings related with Culture, arts and related businesses.

Yonas has played pivotal roles in advisory and leadership positions, including serving as a Senior Analyst/Advisor to the Culture, Arts, and Creative Development State Minister seconded from CIRHT-Africa. He has contributed significantly to governance, capacity building, cultural heritage projects, and drafting 10-year prospective plan, national strategies, policy analysis, COVID-19 recovery strategy for the culture, arts and Creative development sector. Notably, he designed and Coordinated Mega events , served as Technical advisor of the design of Organizational structure of the Ministry’s Culture and arts and Creative sector, provided technical support in grant writing, co-designed and implemented the 2022 UNESCO-Ashberg grants project . His expertise extends to organizing major cultural events, conducting socio-economic research on creative sector, and delivering capacity-building training to diverse stakeholders.
